What books did you love as a child?

And outside of that any other book that I could get my hands on. The neighborhood I grew up in didn't have many, if any, other children my age thus books became my escape and my friends. I remember the anticipation I had every time the Scholastic Book Club paper came out and how eagerly I awaited to get home to ask my mom how many books I could order this time. I'm sure she indulged me more than she should have when it came to books, even the times when she told me no, and I'm appreciative more so now than ever to her and my dad for what they did for me growing up.
I'm not one prone to wistful remembrance nor much sentimentality but this I can look back upon with a fondness.
